Adventure Tours to the Khutzeymateen
Experience an exciting boat excursion to view grizzly and black bears in their summer habitat in the Khutzeymateen (pronounced KOOT-suh-mah-teen) Grizzly Bear Sanctuary. The Khutzeymateen is about 1 ½ hours from Prince Rupert (28 miles north of Prince Rupert and 30 miles south of Alaska). Rugged coast mountains, ancient rain forest, and diverse river valley ecosystems fill the sanctuary's 45,000 hectares, providing a home to one of the highest concentrations of Grizzly bears in North America.
